What 15 Years as a Consultant Taught Me – Industrial Designer James Owen by Core Jr

Michael DiTullo goes one on one with James, who for the past 15 years has been the principal of James Owen Design in Portland, Oregon.

A veteran of design consultancies and a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design, James gets into his unusually direct path into the profession of industrial design, and lessons learned over years of practice.

The discussion is an excellent cross-section of creative insight; from the necessity of play, to the dawn of digital tools, to corporate vs consultancy work-life.
